Artist's Statement

This painting was created at the request of Curtis T------- for his dear wife, Desda.  When Curtis first met Desda, he was not only drawn to her outer beauty but also to the special inner qualities of her person. She enraptured him.   Now, thirty-seven years have passed, and each day, Curtis is still a smitten man.  His love for Desda is apparent when he speaks of her, praising her as a woman, a mother and beloved wife.  His dedication of the song, “Since I Met You, Baby”, truly reflects how he feels about her.  This painting was created with these thoughts in mind, and I could name it none other than “Since I Met You, Baby”.
