Crossing was created in May 2010.   The name is derived from the painting’s content which centralizes upon an abstract path that is a visual representation of a crossroad.  It was created on a day in which the artist was contemplating a decision that she knew would determine how her future would unfold.  The path is obscure to represent the artist’s struggle between her head and her heart.  

The black and variations of red in the painting symbolize how very serious decisions can be.  Some mean our life (red representing our blood) and some are not as serious (pink- a dilution of the red that represents blood), but all of our decisions are an indication of who we are on the inside (black- represents the degree of our sinful, wicked ways).
