Can you tell what it is?

Picture
It's an abstract of a fantasy creature cross between a horse and a dragon.

Artist's Statement

Alogo was created in July 2010.  It is the head of an imaginary creature, a cross between a horse and a dragon.  The blues and turquoises used in the painting give it the feel that the creature is from a different realm.   From early childhood, the artist has been fascinated with horses and the fantasy of large animals that can fly, in particular, dragons.  An early intrigue for the artist was the film production The Neverending Story (1984) based upon a German fantasy novel by Michael Ende in which a little boy becomes a part of a parallel world he reads about in a book.  The world is being destroyed by people’s lack of imagination called the Nothing.   In the parallel word, a boy warrior rides upon a flying, large white animal named Falkor, which is a cross between a dog and a dragon.  As a child, the artist wished she could have had such an experience in the real world, and throughout her life her imagination has never waned.

Alogo is a blend of the artist’s own imagination and fond memories from childhood.  The painting’s name is derived from the Greek word translation of “horse”.
