I've always been fascinated with dragons.  Good ones.  Bad ones.  The fantasy creature is just cool.  Period.

So, I recently completed another dragon painting for a client who just loved one of my dragon paintings that he saw in my studio.  I took pictures at different intervals while I was painting it and decided to share them with you all.  The new painting is entitled Draco, and you can view the pictures in the slideshow to see its creation from start to finish.

See a large picture of Draco by going to its page or by clicking on the picture below.

I began my signature series featuring a winter scene, stark black trees and a red umbrella in 2005.  It's been a popular series.  The patron who owns the very first in the series turned down an offer that was ten times what he paid for it!  I'm not exaggerating.

I have heard the cry of fans who have said that they wanted to see more of the "red umbrella".  People are always making comments about how they love my "red umbrella" paintings.  So, I am proud to present to you White Storm, my largest painting featuring the red umbrella thus far, standing at 36"x48".

And guess what?  White Storm will soon be available as a reverse auction item.  What is that, you may ask.  It's an auction where the painting begins at a starting price and systematically decreases until someone buys it.  When will that launch? Well, I don't know just yet, but I will let you all know when it's go time.

In the meantime, grab a glass of wine or whatever suits your fancy, sit back at your computer screen in a comfortable position and take in the new red umbrella painting.

Do you recognize the abstract art on the cover of this book of plays?

Well, you should!  The Persistence of Memory is a book of plays by Mark David Major now available on Amazon, and guess what?  The cover art is mine; it's the painting Who Am I.

I met Mark a few years ago at an art show, and he really liked my work, but we lost touch.  Well, he must have really loved my work because he put his detective skills to use and found me this past Fall to engage me for some collaboration.  During the time we had lost touch, he had completed a draft of his novel Mars Rising (which took me only two days to read because I couldn't put it down), had written a child's book (a really cute short story) and was working on completing his first compilation of plays.  He's a busy writer, but he's not an artist.  So, we began collaborating, and voila!

You should check out his website.  There are whispers that Mars Rising will give "rise" to a graphic novel and a movie.  Make sure to bookmark his website so you can stay up-to-date with what's happening.  Oh, and while you are at it, bookmark my website too.  And visit often!

The first thing that most people notice about my art is that I do not have a single style.  However, overall, I am considered an abstract artist.  Yes, one painting could be more finely described as abstract expressionism, another as abstract impressionism or still another as abstract pop depending on who's labeling, but abstract is the operative word here.  I feel that my versatility affords just about anyone to find something in my art gallery that will appeal to him or her.

I originally created a website in 2005 simply to begin displaying a few of my works in a virtual art gallery.  It was a very simple site.  I've come a long way since then.  Now, I have plenty of paintings for sale; I provide brokerage services for clients who want to obtain one of my paintings from someone else, and I am also busy creating customized paintings for clients who want to commission a painting. Anyone can commission a painting simply by following the steps provided here.

I'm always looking for an opportunity to make art fun and interesting for others as it is for me.  If you have questions about art, or perhaps topics related to art that you would like for me to write about, please contact me and let me know.  I want this place to be interactive and fun for you too!
